Top 3 Terror Tales of the Park Stories

Ever since Season 3 of Regular Show, it became a Halloween tradition for it to air Treehouse of Horror-esque episodes with different scary stories told by the characters. Needless to say, these were the highlight of every Cartoon Network Halloween in the 2010s. Without further ado, I will state my top three TTOTP stories.

3. In the House (TTOTP I)

Rigby decides to egg a wizard's house on Halloween night, and consequently, is cursed by the wizard to become a house himself. This story has some of the most unsettling body horror I've ever seen in a kids' cartoon. Rigby's transformation into a house is GRUESOME. Muscle Man being skinned alive was also pretty disgusting. The amount of nasty detail put onto the wizard's design looks like it came straight out of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. One Easter egg I liked was that inside House!Rigby, there was a portrait of Eileen, showing that Rigby secretly had a crush on her. This story did a good job of making the wizard guy genuinely creepy.

2. Wallpaper Man (TTOTP II)

When I was younger, I always thought this was the best and most memorable story in TTOTP II, and my opinion still holds up to this day. Mordecai and Rigby hire a man to wallpaper the house, and he does his job a bit TOO well. He holds Benson and the others hostage and turns out to be a giant spider. Jan is an example of a villain where you know he’s a villain from the start, but you don’t know his exact evil deeds or the fact that he’s a spider. I also liked how Muscle Man’s grenades came in handy to defeat Jan.

1. The Previous Owner (TTOTP III)

Benson warns the park gang of a poltergeist named Jebediah Townhouse returning to haunt the house, which he previously owned. Jebediah was 200 years ahead of his time, using 1980s slang in what I assume was the late 18th century or early 19th century. The townsfolks accused him of being a witch and attempted to execute him, but Jebediah infused his soul into the house, waiting to kill whoever entered in 200 years. The park gang doesn't listen to him and decides to stay in the house for the night. Sure enough, Jebediah turns out to be real, and not only does he turn Muscle Man and Fives into brownies, but he continually shapeshifts into different things inside the house.
I just noticed that all of my favorite stories so far involve the house in some way. But unlike the previous two stories, the heroes lose in the end, being eaten whole by Jebediah.
